The Liberties are a trio of towers developed by Toronto College Street Centre in 1990 located at Gerrard & Bay. There are two 20 storey buildings at 711 & 717 Bay Street and 44 Gerrard Street rises 18-storeys. The two buildings house 550 suites. Sizes range from 525sqft to 1400sqft. Pricing generally starts at $325 per sqft. Many units offer courtyard views and some overlook the reflecting pond which residents can skate on during the winter. Suites feature recessed entries and terraces or solariums. Condo fees are approximately 36¢ per sqft inclusive. Facilities are abundant, to say the least- there is a recreation centre, indoor pool, whirlpool, indoor jogging track, gym, sauna, hobby rooms, library lounge, party room with kitchen and wet bar, billiards room, theatre and audio-visual room, rooftop garden, laundry room, and gatehouse. Hospitals, the University of Toronto, financial district and TTC are within a short walk. While the Liberties fulfill a demand, it should have been designed with a bigger emphasis on style.
