UPTOWN AREA

La Piazza
39 Roehampton Avenue

Developed by partners Jourdan and Herzig in 1990, La Piazza is one of the few uptown lofts. Way ahead of their time, the developers were one of the first to build a new loft style property from the ground up. Just 27 lofts are housed in this property located just north of Yonge and Eglinton. Architecture by Gabor & Popper, the structure is decidedly modern; comprised of concrete, glass and steel. Ground floor suites facing the courtyard have patios; penthouses have roof terraces and the rest feature Juliet balconies. Suites range from 750 Sq. ft for a one bedroom to 1100 Sq. ft for the one bedroom plus den. All of the lofts are two stories and feature a large area of 17’ high ceilings in the living area. Windows span an astonishing 16ft. of glass. The development is comprised of two small buildings each serviced by one elevator. Security is provided for by way of an enter phone and due to its size, the building has no facilities. Condo fees are approximately 50¢ per sqft inclusive. Prices at La Piazza start at $325 per square foot and rise to approximately $350 per square foot. La Piazza has served as inspiration to many of Toronto’s new breed of condominium developer.
